Thank you for visiting “Mindset Design.”
This site is an archive created to repeatedly imprint onto myself the insights I have gained through daily reading and dialogue with AI, so that I do not forget them. It is also a place to share this exploration with others who similarly feel that “something is wrong.”
About Me
Allow me to write a little about myself.
As a child, I was a “good kid” who did as I was told. In junior high and high school, I studied diligently and went to a prep school. My days started with supplementary lessons at 7 AM, continued with evening lessons until 5 PM, and after returning home, I studied until I went to sleep. I didn’t know how to doubt, and I believed that doing the same as everyone around me was the right thing to do.
However, the moment I entered university, something inside me snapped. having advanced without a purpose, I couldn’t continue and dropped out. In an era where I didn’t even know that options like entrepreneurship or freelancing existed, I didn’t know what to do and lost my way.
I worked on an assembly line at a jelly factory, nearly going insane from the repetition, and thought, “I can’t go on like this,” so I taught myself programming. After nearly a year of job hunting, I finally found a job, but it was at an exploitative “black company” with over 100 hours of overtime per month, zero overtime pay, and pay cuts if work was slow. I genuinely believed, “This is what work is,” and “This is due to my own lack of ability.”
I reached my limit, went independent, and survived as a freelance engineer. Yet, in the days of selling my time for money, I suddenly realized—I had been living someone else’s time all along.
Through encounters with books by Takafumi Horie, “Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind,” and the works of Dr. Joe Dispenza, I began to realize how thoroughly I had been brainwashed by “common sense.” However, even after realizing it, the brainwashed habits would quickly return. That is exactly why I need to repeatedly rewrite myself—this is the origin of this site.
Why can’t we change with just a “single realization”? According to neuroscience, over 95% of our behavior is driven by the subconscious—in other words, automatic programs created from past memories. Even if we decide to “change” with our 5% conscious mind, the 95% unconscious mind continues to replay the same patterns every day. The true nature of quitting shortly after starting or rebounding lies not in weak willpower, but in this structural asymmetry.
Therefore, nothing changes just by reading once and thinking “I see.” By reading repeatedly, thinking repeatedly, and repeatedly imprinting it into the subconscious, the “initial settings of thought” finally begin to be rewritten. Meditation is also a technique for this rewriting. This site exists as a “reprogramming device” for that purpose.
Why “Mindset Design”?
Every day, we are exposed to countless pieces of information and forced to make countless choices.
Smartphone notifications, social media timelines, news, advertisements—.
Before we know it, the time and attention that should have been used for what truly matters are being exploited by someone else.
When I learned that 95% of human behavior is unconscious—meaning essentially automatic pilot—I reconsidered my life.
Isn’t the majority of that unconsciousness imprinted under the name of “common sense”?
Isn’t what I thought was my own will actually just me being “made to think” that way?
Even the hobbies and tastes I thought I liked might have been prepared by someone else.
When I thought about that, a fundamental question arose: “What was my own will?”
That sense of dissonance and exploration was the catalyst for starting this site.
The Core of This Site
My exploration consists of three layers.
Layer 1: Perception of Reality (Raising the Issue)
“We are continuously having our attention and time exploited without realizing it.”
- Modern society continues to steal our attention through “education, media, advertising, and SNS.”
- In a life that should have infinite possibilities, we somehow repeat the same patterns (habits, thoughts).
- The possibility that even the definitions of “common sense,” “success,” and “happiness” are imprinted from the outside.
Layer 2: Structural Understanding (Why this happens)
“Over 95% of the human brain is on unconscious automatic pilot, and we continue to replay ‘past programs’.”
- Habits operate not on willpower, but on systems.
- Negative thoughts physically erode the brain and body (Nocebo effect).
- Conversely, changing consciousness and emotions can even change the body (Placebo effect, actual experience with meditation).
- In terms of quantum mechanics, reality is a wave of possibilities that collapses upon observation (= focusing attention).
Layer 3: Proposal (How to live)
“To ‘choose for yourself’ where to focus your attention within a finite life. This is the only freedom and the ultimate life hack.”
- Time = Life. Living time for others is synonymous with handing over your life.
- By facing death (finitude), what is important in this present moment becomes clear.
- “Whether spiritualism is correct” is not the issue. What functions is what matters.
- Repeatedly imprinting onto the subconscious through meditation, reading, and deep thinking = Designing the Mindset.
Themes I Am Exploring
The Universe, Time, and Finite Life
In the 13.8 billion-year history of the universe, the time each of us lives is just a fleeting moment.
However, within that “moment” lies infinite possibility.
Where we focus our attention determines what kind of reality emerges.
As quantum mechanics suggests, waves of possibility collapse into a single reality through “observation.”
Our consciousness, attention, and choices—these shape reality.
It may sound spiritual, but what I want to ask is not “is it correct,” but “does it function?”
Unconscious, Habits, and Instinct
According to neuroscience, more than 95% of our behavior is driven by the subconscious—that is, habits and conditioned reflexes.
“I want to change, but I can’t.”
“I know I shouldn’t, but I can’t stop.”
This is not because your will is weak.
It is simply that the “automatic pilot” created from past memories is replaying the same patterns every day.
The true nature of giving up easily or rebounding lies in the structural impossibility of trying to defeat 95% unconsciousness with 5% willpower.
Therefore, what is needed is not guts, but designing habits through systems.
Meditation, Reading, and Rewriting Consciousness
Various books, YouTube channels, and deep dialogues with AI—.
By not ending with just “knowing” the knowledge gained from these, but repeatedly imprinting it into the subconscious, I rewrite my own “initial thought settings.”
That is the meaning of “Mindset Design.”
In fact, when I read Dr. Joe Dispenza’s book “You Are the Placebo” and tried meditation, I experienced the shoulder and lower back pain that had plagued me for years disappearing like magic.
“Thoughts change the body” is not occultism; for me, it is a proven fact.
What I Want to Convey Through This Site
“In infinite possibilities, what will you use your finite life for? Choose your attention and time yourself, rewrite your subconscious with habits and systems, and live this moment as your own.”
- Attention and time are your life itself. You can choose what to use them for.
- This very moment is the only reality. You don’t have to be ruled by past memories or future anxieties.
- Change habits with systems, not willpower. If you design the environment, the unconscious becomes your ally.
- Reading and deep thinking have the power to fundamentally change life.
- “Does it function?” rather than “Is it correct?” Try it yourself, verify it yourself.
I want to break free from the days of having my attention continuously exploited in the modern flood of information,
and use my finite life for what I have chosen myself.
Within the tremendous waves of possibility that is the universe,
I will understand the instincts of human existence,
and continue to explore the path to living better in the time until death.
I hope this site serves as some kind of catalyst for you as well.
